Bettina Liano at Melbourne Spring Fashion Week 2009
November 8th 2009 08:51
Coming out to play a little later on in the show was Bettina Liano's collection...and what an interestng show that was...
The wonderful new collection revved up the already excited audience. It was definitely an interesting collection with dark denim jackets, high-waisted light-wash, skinny jeans and ¾ tulip tied pants, are still the go for this spring. It didn't appear to have changed much which was a bit disappointing but it still looked pretty and I guess people wouldn't need to totally revamp their wardrobe.
Stand-outs included the classic white v necked ‘opera dress’ with a tulip skirt, pocket detailing and the black blazer with puffed sleeves which was gathered around the elbows. The black blazer was everywhere and could be worn over everything - from dresses, to trousers and skirts.
Vinyl was taking a stance with it being featured in a few outfits including a funky, strapless vinyl gold dress and a deep purple, vinyl wrap playsuit teamed with a blazer. Overall it received the largest round of applause and excited the crowd for what was going to appear next.
Honestly I can't see myself wearing the vinyl but who knows? I just thought it would be very uncomfortable material to sport in spring let alone summer...Then again, if you like your butt-cheeks sticking to the inside of your dress then this one is for you - I guess it prevents your dress from flying up.
Overall nothing really 'new' from the collection with only a handful of stand-out pieces, but very entertaining none-the-least!
Off we go to check out Nevenka!
