March 17th 2008 01:19
How do you avoid being a figure swept away by colour and imagination? How do you avoid being constantly surrounded by ‘matching’ or ‘non-matching’ outfits? Most importantly how do you avoid clothing yourself inappropriately?...tough questions yet easily conquered. So no teenage girl has the cash flow of a princess so pretty much you learn to make do. There are 5 easy spots which pop up which could assist in ensuring you strut your stuff as well!
Beauty spot #1 – hello stranger and welcome to the world of “op” shops, eg ‘Savers’ They are scattered all around the joint. Check some out in you local guides, phone books, the net & use your networking skills to ensure you grab a bargain. So not everything in these places may not be your “style” so try new stuff out...just think you can pick up t-shirts and dresses for about $10 bucks each...not bad hey!
Beauty spot #2 – this one is for all those creative chicks out there...make your own clothes! Now I don’t mean fully creating a massive jumper or jeans from 1cm of material but simply adding little additions to plain items of clothing. You can jazz it up anyway you want and at the same time keep track of your available funds! For example...grab a white old tee add a bit of colored die which can be swept up cheaply, use the scissors and add little trinkets... ‘voila’ you have got yourself a brand new tee-shirt!
Beauty spot #3 – so you are having a few issues with the whole “name brand” thing. Remember you are not alone. Not everyone’s wardrobe is comprised of every item consisting of a label so don’t stress. My tip is...hang out until you discover a cool sale...how do you know this. Simply subscribe to a sales website or shopping sites and they will alert you to any stores which are having major reductions or have second hand clothes or samples on sale. You may even be lucky enough to end up at the sale where you could score some of the hottest clothes which have been instore!
Beauty spot #4 – “buy one get one free” if you are a true fashion guru then you will love that phrase...now if you are a clever girl you should take advantage of the offer. Need some extra tee’s or singlet tops simply make your way to the store with the sale and you have managed to pick up 2 for the price of 1 very nice deal! You can never have enough tops so make sure you get them in two different colours!
Beauty spot #5 – factory outlets are also a very cool place to pick up items you may not find in stores at all! Check them out in your various states and you will be surprised at the savings you can make. These are very helpful in regards to sporting attire so if you want to look cool while shedding your pounds check these places out!
There you go...5 simple ways to ensure you always have a penny left in the piggy bank and keep up with the times. Most importantly you have avoided being a fashion victim despite your limited dosh in this materialistic world!

You need a certain amount of style to create your own clothes though -- it can be a bit hit and miss sometimes..
