Pretty Patterned Pins

The wow factor of pretty pins has hit the streets of Melbourne these days. Skirts are still totally hot in these freezing Melbourne conditions and what better way to sport them than with a sexy pair of patterned tights or stockings.
Myer, David Jones and even Target have a splendid range of coloured material to wrap those legs up in style and keep them nice and cosy during winter storms all while looking smokey-hot. They range from ‘el-cheapo’ to ‘expenso’ so whatever fits the budget will certainly fit the calves.
Black is obviously your safest and best bet when shooting up the tight highway only because it certainly matches with any outfit you have slipped into and it certainly has a classic look. The only thing with patterned tights is that you must be careful what it actually is you are wearing. You cannot get too excited and go O.T.T (over the top) in mixing up the clothes and stocking options.
If you are wearing your patterned tights it is always a good idea to keep your outfit plain and simple. This can equate to a simple black or any coloured skirt for that matter – the only requirement is that your skirt must be pattern-free. Your top can certainly have some special design attacking it but you need a break in the middle of the outfit. Keeping it simple in the middle should be the golden rule you follow. Too much activity happening everywhere else over our body looses the effect of your pretty patterned tights resulting in quite a mixed up appearance.
Charcoal grey is also a possibility which keeps the outfit looking nice and toasty while a deep dark navy blue can also provide an alternative for elegant black. Undoubtedly however black is the clear winner all around just because it relieves you of the pressures and thinking time of what the colour of your outfit should be seeming as black goes with everything. If you want the appearance of longer legs go for tights which have a pattern that runs vertically down your leg. It really does give you the appearance of a longer, thinner pin and nicely defined calves.
One more thing – the dreaded ladders are a no-deal for patterned stockings. They are extremely difficult and virtually impossible to conceal with your spot of clear nail-polish so unfortunately the best bet to avoid looking trashy in these cases is to dispose of your ruined tights. You cannot and will not be able to repair damaged patterned tights. Obviously whatever the pattern easily becomes mangled and usually it is in areas that are not discreet so people are going to see your failed attempt of a repair.
Of course these are just ideas – you should not feel restricted by any pattern on your tights as the majority of patterns are hot and adds some spice to the dreary winters we have succumbed to.
