Strings Attached

I can not comprehend those individuals who leave the safe nest that they call home and enter the crazy world with strings attached. When you have just purchased a brand-spankin’ new pair of jeans or a pretty top, the last thing you want to be doing is strutting your stuff down the street with a ball of cotton in tow.
While commuting on the trusty train service in Melbourne, I got off at my desired end point of travel and stood patiently behind a young girl, as the escalator did its job and raised me up a few levels until I reached heaven – being Melbourne Central. I was confronted with this girl on the tram as I continued my journey - only to spot an issue. She was wearing a white long sleeved top, which was pleasant on a winter’s day however, she appeared to have a few unwanted accessories.
All the way down the back of her top, where her arms were and extending below her elbows were black cotton threads all over the place. They were long and clearly visible to the naked eye while being exposed all over town. Either, she had popped on a black cardi and then removed it – well at least she thought she had removed it all – or the white top was not as preen as it appeared. It actually may have been stashed under a variety of assorted goods in her cupboard at the back of her house and without the girl noticing the remanence of other items of clothing, she popped it on c-l-u-e-l-e-s-s-l-y!
It looked terrible. It made it appear as though the poor chick was rushed for time, disorganised, her top was falling apart or someone had gone and drawn random lines all over her pretty white top in a fit of excitement after gaining access to a black permanent marker. You should always observe your attire before rushing out of the house. Clearly it is not possible every single time you make a mercy dash for the train you thought you would have had enough time to jump on but occasionally, it is handy to grab a quick squiz in the mirror to ensure you are looking hot-to-trot.
If you check out any loose threads just snip them off with a super sharp pair of scissors- but be careful - you do not want to hack and destroy the main threads that keeps your garment together… If this occurs you may find yourself in an awkward situation. Could you imagine prancing down the street with your clothes literally exhibiting a mind of their own while they unravel before your eyes and literally fall of you … Scary – unless your aim really is to stop traffic…You would need to come with flashing lights for that one…
