Tag Dags

May 21st 2008 00:30
I do not want to be sitting on a tram, in a lecture, at a bus stop, in a shopping center or at the cinemas and be confronted by a ‘tag dag’. Simple as that really! They are called tag dags for a reason – don’t expose your tag and you can avoid the stigma and label that goes along with the word dag. I sat in on one of my lectures the other day and this person ran in stumbling after 15 minutes – simply late. After organizing her 3 bags she finally sat down (as loudly as possible may I add) and dumped everything on the floor. Ok good composure I think to myself – or not. The irritating site burned its way through my retinas. There it was – staring back at me – that annoying shape that has some of life’s secrets on it – the tag of her cardigan. I literally just wanted to lean over and tuck it in – or better still rip it off. They are a frustrating site. So small yet so irritating. I know they sometimes just poke out of your clothes and no one seems to mind but if I am out and one of my friends is completely oblivious to the fact that the whole world can read the details of her clothes, I am the first one to tuck that little sucker in and make sure that it magically disappears. Sometimes I remove the tags altogether as they are so very annoying and plus you are better of without them. I am sure, being a girl, you will never forget your size or where you bought that particular item from. You could call it a pet hate and not so much a crime but then I thought about it and maintained my stance that it is an offence. It makes you look so disorganized and as if you actually didn’t have enough time to get dressed and so you shoved everything in the hope of pulling together a neat and tidy outfit. The tag blatantly ruins this image for you. Tags are sewn on the inside of your clothes and so generally if you put 2 and 2 together you not only get 4 but you would know that the evil little useless things live inside your clothes. They are never meant to see the light of day – let’s keep it that way!
