The Silly Sequined Scarf

Ok so, I love scarves like those that are pretty and patterned and chunky and keep you warm however, there are some scarves that just do not tickle my fancy. These ones are those really super thin ones which clearly should not be classified as a scarf. They offer no warmth, could almost resemble a massive necklace and if one chooses the wrong colour it could just look quite ridiculous.
As I was prancing around aimlessly the other sunny day I noticed this young girl who was sporting quite a nice pair of Bardot jeans and a cool cord jacket however accessory wise it appeared that things had gone a little bit pear shaped. She was wearing a scarf (which I could not work out why as it was the only sunny lovely day we had had all week) which was of odd appearance.
It was super-dooper thin and had hot pink small sequins sewn on to it. It was in no way matching her attire at all – nor her bag or her shoes seeming they were both shiny gold and were on their own mission. It had appeared that she had stolen a critical feature of a dancing costume and thrown it around her neck to jazz the outfit up a bit and make her sparkle. It was clearly the incorrect approach to take as the scarf came down to her waist, had some weird knot done at the top of it and there were many hot pink sequins missing off the beloved item.
I think I have made my point clear being that I am not a great fan of the thin scarf however, at times, I guess they can add flair to your outfit. Colour however is really quite important which must be remembered. These cleverly woven winter threads are not meant to be the major focus of an outfit and in this case, sequined scarves, especially, should be reserved for cabaret dance numbers when you are on stage and you literally have the desire to shine…
